Join Patrik for the 10th Annual Allegro Breast
Cancer Show & Dance on May 31

Mark your calendars to support The Allegro Ballroom's 10th Annual
Allegro Breast Cancer (ABC) event to be held on Saturday, May 31, 2008.
Every year, a splendid array of Bay Area ballroom stars donate their time
and talent to provide sizzling performances in our annual “A Leg Up For
Breast Cancer” Show and Dance to raise funds to fight breast cancer.
Every dollar that comes through the door that night will be donated,
including expenses. All proceeds will be given to the Breast Cancer Fund
and Friends of Faith.

This annual event originated as a tribute to well-loved former Allegro
teacher Christy Coté, who is now in her tenth cancer-free year. Her fight
for life sparked the annual fundraiser, which has become a proud Allegro
tradition. We are delighted to welcome
Patrik Gallineaux  as our Master of
Ceremonies.

This special evening begins at 7:30 PM with a 45 minute American Tango
for Everyone class in the Main Ballroom, taught by the talented favorites
Mark and Andrea Nelson-Novak. At the same time in the Junior Ballroom,
regular ABC Milonga hosts Polo Talnir and Diana Kaftan will teach a
Milonga class. Our famous Dessert and Snack Bar opens at 8:15 PM,
offering delicious cheesecakes, cookies, fruit, along with cheeses,
vegetables, and other finger foods. At 9:15 PM, we’ll take our seats and
enjoy the Show, headlined by Tango Con*Fusión, an all-female dance
troupe with Christy Coté, Charity Lebrón, Pier Voulkos, Carolina
Rozensztroch, Chelsea Eng, and Debbie Goodwin. General dancing is
available until 1:00 AM in the Main Ballroom to the great musical
selections of DJ Diane Lowe. In the Junior Ballroom, Polo and Diana
provide favorite music for the Milonga (Tango Dance Party) until the wee
hours.

Regular tickets are $25, and VIP tickets with Reserved Seats are $100.
Drawing prize tickets will be on sale before the event and all evening, with
the final winning names posted at 11:30 PM. You do not need to be
present to win.

Since we opened, Allegro has donated more than $160,000 to community
causes, charities, and programs for 9-11 and Tsunami relief.
Committed to helping our community, we also provide scholarships to
young dancers and free dance programs for youth and seniors. Join us
on Saturday, May 31 for our fundraiser against this dreaded disease that
touches the lives of almost everyone in some way. We’re counting on you.
